Thanks to Kenya’s breathtaking scenery and wildlife, photography rapidly became a side hobby during my research field trips. The photos below were taken between 2008 and 2014. Most were shot at Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Laikipia, which was my field site for my dissertation research, but there are some from other locales as well.

Some of my favorite photos of charismatic megafauna. Mostly taken at Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Laikipia, where I conducted my dissertation research.

Kenya is home to a breath-taking variety of bird species. The shots here are a subset (read: the ones that held still!) of the 200-odd species I was able to identify during my field trips.

Sunsets and scenery

Sundowners (watching the sunset while enjoying an adult beverage) are a great way to relax after a long day in the field. Working in the shadow of Mount Kenya makes for good photos too!
